Theme Thursday, Come Exploring With A Camera & Sky Watch Fridays

This is a combination post.  I'm combining three link parties into one post.  The first is Theme Thursday - Summer Sun!, the second is Come Exploring with a Camera - Thresholds (round 2) and the third is Sky Watch Friday.  Hope you enjoy!

Theme Thursday - Summer Sun!

Come Exploring with a Camera - Thresholds (round 2)
Natural Threshold - I know it's not a traditional threshold, but I thought the shot was pretty cool - the way the shadows play into making it a natural threshold.

Sky Watch Friday
I actually took this picture because I thought the bales of hay looked so cool in the field - but then I noticed the sky and realized that the picture wouldn't have been half as good without it.

That's all for now, enjoy.  Thanks for stopping by.

The Summer Bucket List

I stole this idea from Manda at Baseballs and Ballet Shoes.

1.   Get a swing for A
2.   Get a small swimming pool for A
3.   Go swimming at Nixon Pool
 4.   Take the girls to the Hot Air Jubilee
5.   Take the girls to swimming lessons
6.   Visit the animal barns at the fair and maybe get elephant ears
7.   Lose 15 pounds before September
8.   Spend a day on Lake Michigan
9.   Go to the Zoo - Detroit, Potter Park, or Binder Park
10. See a family friendly movie at the Michigan Theater - maybe with Manda from Baseballs and Ballet Shoes
11. Make popsicles
12. Sleep in my own bed again
13. Hang out at the Cascades again maybe with Manda.
14. Watch M learn to crawl and maybe walk... ok, I know I don't really have anything to do with that one, but I can't wait to see it!
15. Spend Labor Day Weekend in Cincinnati with Z watching him play softball with his buddies and hanging with the other wives and girlfriends.
16. Actually have a job and get my LLPC.

Toddler Talk Thursday - Emergency Kit for the Babysitter

We don't have a pre-prepared emergency kit for when we have a babysitter, but there are some things that I ALWAYS make sure to do before we leave.  I always make sure that I have enough diapers and wipes out.  I always make sure that pj's and any other necessary clothes are laid out where they are easy to find.  And finally, I always leave a list with important phone numbers - those phone numbers include: both of our cell numbers, grandparents' phone numbers, the pediatrician's office number, Poison Control, the Fire Department, etc.

Future Topic Suggestion:  How to handle bringing a new baby home with a toddler in the house.

Favorite Photo - June

Since A's birthday is in June - I decided that I needed to pick a photo of her as my favorite June photo... but I couldn't decide between these two...  So... You all tell me.

Blogging Hints Catch a Wave Wednesday

Have you ever...?

Have you ever had one of "those" days?  You know the days when you can do NOTHING right.  Well, today is one of "those" days for me. Or maybe a better way to put it is that this week has been one of "those" weeks.

I'm really struggling with my self-esteem today, can you tell?  This isn't usually something I struggle with, but since I'm still "recovering" from surgery and it's still incredibly hard to play with A, I'm feeling like a failure as a mom.  I know in my head that I'm not, but my heart isn't listening to my head.

I've also had a huge issue with my typing and grammar today.  That's not helping.  Usually, my grammar is pretty good - and I only have a few minor mistakes.  Today, on the other hand, has been completely the opposite.  I'm not sure why I'm in such a "funk".

I really dislike feeling so negative and I'm not quite sure how to shake it.  Anyway, that's all for now, hopefully I can shake it soon.

Thanks for stopping by.  Tomorrow WILL be a BETTER day.

Project64 - Week 25 (Goldenrod)

I just started with this project - I might go back through the previous weeks and see if I can find pictures with those colors as well... but here's the first one I'm submitting.

Hope you enjoy!  Thanks for stopping by.

Three Things Some "Bunny" Loves Tuesday (The Mommy Edition)

1.  So, it's been a long two months of the floor project, but the first thing this Mommy loves is that it's almost over!!!  Here are the latest progress pictures:

2.  Sleeping Babies.  M is consistently sleeping 8+ hours every night with several 11-12 hours interspersed!!  She's not even 5 months old!  A didn't do that until she was 10 months old.  I never expected M to be this easy.  My mom says it's payback for the way I was when I was little - I was A and M is the way my brother was - much easier that way... I guess that's just God's sense of humor.

3. Netflix - We get all the Veggie Tales videos A could want, plus TV shows and movies.  I have discovered Army Wives and I LOVE it.  The only problem it presents is that I don't want to do anything else.

That's all for now.  Thanks for stopping by.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - June 26, 2011

It's been a couple of weeks since I've participated in SHS...  Here are my interpretations:

1. Windows/doors
Doors on the barn across the street from my parents' house.

2. Eyelashes
Yes, my girls were blessed with their Daddy's eyelashes!!! And I'm incredibly JEALOUS!!

3. Paint
Cake "paints" - these are Wilson food coloring containers.

4. Leaf Veins

5. Faceless Portrait

Wordless Weekend Post - The "A's Birthday" Edition

Yesterday was A's Birthday.  She turned 2.  Here are some pictures from her party!  These are all SOOC.

She kept saying "Oh no, Bob" as she was eating her cake.  It was adorable and I wish I had gotten a video of it, but I didn't think about it soon enough.

That's all for now.  Thanks for stopping by.
